2. 1. Present participle: V + ing . (động từ chủ động) * Ex: The boy is Ba. He’s reading a book. The boy reading a book is Ba. → Present participle * Remember: S(people) + V-ing * Use: Present participle (hiện tại phân từ) dùng để thay thế trong mệnh đề quan hệ nhưng động từ ở thể chủ động
3. 2. Past participle: Ved/3 (động từ bị động) * Ex: The old lamp is 5 dollars. It was made in China. The old lamp made in China is 5 dollars. → Past participle * Remember: S (thing) + V-ed/3 * Use: Past participle (quá khứ phân từ) dùng để thay thế trong mệnh đề quan hệ nhưng động từ ở dạng bị động
4. 3. Requests with: Ex 1: Would you mind moving your car? - No, of course not. * Form: Would you mind + V-ing ? Do you mind + V-ing ? * Use: Dùng để yêu cầu người khác làm việc gì một cách lịch sự
5. 4. Requests with: Ex 2: Would you mind if I smoked? Do you mind if I smoke? * Form: Would you mind if I + V (s.past) . . . ? Do you mind if I + V (s.present) . . . ? * Use: Dùng để hỏi xin phép một cách lịch sự
